Strong eight-year record for effective budgeting and a wholehearted commitment to doing committee work, including the steering committee for the district's strategic plan, the search committees for new administrators, and various committees on curriculum-development and contract negotiations

Statement "It’s an exciting time to be on the BOE. We’re launching a number of initiatives that will enhance the educational process and benefit our entire school community. Some of these include the world language program for all grade levels, the five-year technology plan, and the professional learning communities approach--a school-wide strategy that integrates student learning in a collaborative environment. In recent years the BOE has emphasized academic rigor, a strong curriculum, accountability, and improved professional development--all within a zero-based budget. I look forward to helping the BOE bring Guilford schools to a new level of excellence."
