  Statement
When elected, this will be my first term on the Guilford Board of Education. I am well aware of the challenges of the last budget season and those that we will continue to face over the next four years.

As a lifelong educator, beginning as a high school teacher and working currently as a Fellowship Director and teacher with the Emergency Medicine Residency at the Yale School of Medicine I have a strong belief in the importance of education to the individual, the community, and the present and future world. I hope to work with all elected officials and the community in arriving at the best long term fiscally responsible solution to the infrastructure issues that Guilford faces.

I believe there are opportunities for economizing costs while preserving quality by working towards regionalization, particularly through investigating the possibility of bringing quality special needs education closer to the Shoreline.

As a parent of younger children in the Guilford system, I will bring an important perspective to the Board. I pledge to be a board member who supports communication and responsiveness to the community as a whole.
