ALAN MEYERS
for Board of Education
  Bio
Raised in the Bronx, NY

Attended Antioch College in Ohio

Received Medical Degree from University of Rochester

Received pediatric training at Yale New Haven Hospital

Performed two year tour of duty in the United States Air Force

Lived and practiced pediatrics and taught at Yale University

Resided in Guilford since 1972

All three sons attended Guilford Public Schools

Has grandchildren attend Guilford Lakes School

  Accomplishments
Member of the Board of Education since 2005

Member of the the Democratic town Committee since 2005

During this term we have seen a dramatic improvement in student learning under the leadership of Dr. Forcella, whose service to the district coincides with mine. We have also begun to address changing the culture within the schools, involvement of community in the school programs, and improve our school facilities.






  Statement
I have always believed in “giving back” to the community and this has led to service to the hospitals, my faith community, and to the town.

I look forward to my second term to continue the progress we have made.
